Andrew joined Madlins in 1978 as an Assistant Surveyor, promoted to Senior Surveyor and became an Associate in 1984 and a Partner in 1987. Elected as a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors in 1992.
Andrew has advised on a wide range of projects for private, commercial and Government clients and specialises in Project Management and Cost Planning for the Practice. He places great emphasis on the feasibility stage of schemes, cost estimating and cost analysis. Andrew takes personal responsibility to ensure that the Client's objective to have a development constructed on time and within the approved budget are met. This goes far beyond the management of a Building Contract.
Andrew is a strong believer in a team approach and in particular communication between all parties. Andrew remains personally involved in every project and oversees day to day matters from inception through to Practical Completion.
Andrew’s experience extends across many sectors, including Residential, Commercial, Industrial, Education, Retail, Health and Leisure.
Outside of work, Andrew is keen on most sports and regularly plays golf and tennis. He enjoys walking, cycling, swimming and skiing with the family. Andrew has supported Southampton football club since a boy and regularly goes to watch them play at St. Mary’s Stadium. Andrew also enjoys travelling to experience different countries and cultures. Andrew married Alison in 1980 and has two boys, both now married with their own careers.
