Ryan is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor & Building Surveyor (dual qualified) having worked on Civil Engineering, Building, Process & Airport Projects under various forms of contract representing Employers, Contractors and Subcontractors, on projects of a few thousand pounds to large commercial ventures of many millions.

Ryan has senior level executive with extensive knowledge of technical construction matters, financial and contract administration having provided advice pre-planning through to construction final accounts and latent defects claims. He has particular experience and expertise in dealing with JCT, FIDIC, NEC3 and ICE contract suites, along with various bespoke forms.

Ryan is experienced with the representation of organisations and individuals in negotiations and dispute resolution proceedings. Regularly appointed to determine the cause of issue on distressed projects and to present a party’s position. He also acts in the capacity of dispute avoidance consultant, auditing proposed contracts and providing an independent review of live projects.

Ryan is regularly appointed as expert witness in matters of quantum and technical with experience as a single joint expert. He has given evidence and been cross examined in adjudication, international arbitration and litigation (including the TCC).

As a Partner, Ryan is still active in the delivery of construction projects and leading the major works division. The various major works schemes include fire remediation such as façade remedial projects, compartmentation and structural remedial works. He is experienced with higher risk buildings and the additional complications that arise from these projects.
